Dr. Blau is an absolutely fantastic surgeon—I cannot recommend him highly enough. My experience having gynecomastia surgery with him has been nothing but positive, and frankly, it’s been life-changing. Dr. Blau is knowledgeable, caring, and committed to delivering the best possible surgical outcome.
When I finally decided to get gynecomastia surgery, I was nervous about finding a doctor who knew what they were doing. I had read all about gynecomastia online, and I knew that there were different ways of treating gynecomastia, some more effective than others. In my search for a good surgeon, I talked to roughly ten different plastic surgeons, and Dr. Blau truly stood out from the rest. He was more knowledgeable about gynecomastia than any other surgeon I had spoken with, and he took the time to explain to me everything I needed to know about the procedure. Moreover, Dr. Blau has written the literal book on gynecomastia—“Masculinity Defined,” which he gave me a copy of after our initial consultation.
From the beginning of my experience with Dr. Blau to the end, both he and his staff were caring and considerate, and made the entire process feel comfortable and pleasant. Not only did Dr. Blau take the time at our initial consultation to ensure I knew what to expect, but he also made sure I was aware of what was happening every step of the way. While I was recovering, I had check-ins with Dr. Blau every one to two weeks, where he assessed my recovery and let me know how I should be caring for myself to ensure I healed perfectly. Additionally, the staff that works in Dr. Blau’s office are an absolute delight, and made my experience all the more positive. Maryann, who runs the office, is prompt with communication, provides you with all the documentation you might ever request, and is super friendly. Trudy, Dr. Blau’s nurse, is fantastic at her job and is so much fun to speak with. Even the anesthesiologist that Dr. Blau works with was caring and took the time to ensure that I felt comfortable with the process.
Dr. Blau is absolutely committed to delivering the best possible surgical outcome, even if that means providing revisional surgery at no cost to you. A few months after I had finally healed from my surgery, I noticed that I had a small lump of scar tissue in the surgical area. I brought this up to Dr. Blau at a follow-up appointment, and he was quick to let me know that he would fix it if it didn’t resolve itself within the following months. When it didn’t, he scheduled a minor revisional surgery at no cost to me— which is a step I don’t think most plastic surgeons would take. Dr. Blau really went above and beyond with me to make sure I was happy with the final result.
All told, my chest looks amazing after gynecomastia surgery with Dr. Blau. If you’re considering having the operation, I highly, highly recommend paying Dr. Blau a visit. He’ll take the time to make sure you understand what the surgery entails, he’ll find images of his patients with comparable body types to yours, and give you a clear expectation of what your surgical outcome might be— and from my experience, your outcome is more likely than not to be an amazing one.
