About Back & Waist Liposuction
Liposuction or Liposculpture surgery is performed to remove unwanted localized deposits of fat cells from the body. A suction tube is inserted through a tiny incision, usually in inconspicuous areas. Tumescent Liposuction is the injection of a specialized composite fluid into a specific area which sometimes helps to reduce the bleeding and facilitate the liposuction.
Liposuction of the back and waist are usually performed in conjunction with liposuction of the abdomen as well as other areas. Fatty deposits (bulges) on the back respond well to liposculpture in patients of all ages, but the best results are achieved on patients 45 years of age and younger, due to their increased skin elasticity. Older patients also often achieve good results, depending on their skin’s elasticity and the areas to be liposuctioned. Dr. Blau has found that the back area is one of the best areas for liposuction. The back liposuction pictures on this page show improved contours of the back, even in some obese patients. In general, patients are quite pleased with the results of back liposuction. Of course, each individual is different and should consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experienced with back liposuction surgery for a personalized assessment.
