This 14-year-old teenager from Pennsylvania was self-conscious in school to participate in activities that involved removing his shirt, such as swimming and did not like it when others could see his overdeveloped chest. He learned that adolescent gynecomastia affects many young boys about 8 to 12 years of age and as many as 30% of males live with the condition for the rest of their lives. He was unhappy that his condition had not resolved itself on its own.
