This 24-year-old patient from Queens, New York (New York City) had “C” cup male breasts, when compared to woman’s breasts. It is a condition called severe gynecomastia and is marked by moderate gland and fat fullness with loose, saggy skin. The condition started in early adolescence and did not go away on its own. He decided on a male breast reduction after consulting with Dr. Blau, who is an award-winning sculptor and painter and an accomplished author and world authority regarding gynecomastia surgery. Surgery included excision of excess glandular and fatty tissue. Excess skin will typically shrink own its one once the gladular tissue is removed and will not require extra surgery. The nipple area was not touched. Although the scar is visible, it will fade with time. The patient is now happy with his new chest and is once again happy he can enjoy activities without embarrassment of having extremely large breasts.
