About this breast augmentation revisional surgery: This 31 y.o. patient had saline breast implants in 1993 by another plastic surgeon for hypomastia (flat breast). She was referred to Dr. Blau by her two best friends that had previously had breast augmentation surgery by Dr. Blau.
The photos show the severe capsular contraction with displacement of the implants, medially & superiorly. Due to the displacement of the implants, the nipple areola complexes were shifted laterally and looked abnormal and distorted. In addition to severe asymmetry the implants were partially deflated.
The patient was happy to find that Dr. Blau is a Diplomate of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and is also an accomplished, award-winning sculptor and painter.
Dr. Blau had to remove the old implants, replace them with new implants, and perform capsulectomy and reposition the new implants.
Post operatively, the breasts appear more natural and softer looking. The patient was very pleased with the results and referred her brother and a few friends to Dr. Blau for plastic surgery.
