About this breast augmentation revisional surgery: This 46 y.o. patient from Miami, FL had breast augmentation one year prior by a Florida plastic surgeon, and subsequently developed an infection and rejection of the implant. The implant had to be removed from her left breast. Post-removal, the left breast became much smaller in comparison to the right one, and a severe depression and distortion of the left nipple-areola complex was noted.

A reconstruction of the left breast was performed by Dr. Blau. The surgery began with debridement and capsulectomy, and the breast pocket was modified in such a way as to be enlarged to an appropriate size. The new saline implant was inserted sub-muscularly and positioned in order to be symmetric with the opposite (right) breast.

Post surgery, the patient did extremely well. The post-op photos show that the patient�s goals of attaining a more symmetrical and natural appearance for her breasts were achieved. The changes provided the patient with a significant sense of relief and a newly inspired confidence.
